About Sell Map Data to AI

People who read GIS platforms' and map APIs' terms and the law on maps and databases through their own document reader, keep a copy of each document quoted, and answer every enquiry themselves.

What this site is for

A mapping archive mixes data a firm captured with data it derived from basemaps and public mapping, held in platforms each with terms of their own. This site separates what is the firm's own from what was never its to sell.

Who will find it useful

Directors of land survey practices, GIS consultancies, drone and aerial capture firms and mapping companies with years of captured data, and the advisers helping them close or sell.

Inside this site

A quote form for one question, "sell map data to ai", that runs right on the page with no sign-up, 4 guides on related questions, a table of figures you are free to cite (see the data and how it was made), and the list of sources behind every number.

Things it does not do

  • We do not rank GIS platforms; each row is the platform's own sentence and our reading of it.
  • We do not ask for files, client names or site locations in the form.
  • No GIS platform named on the board ever sees an enquiry sent here.

Accountability

Joseph Ellul-Turner, Director.

No GIS platform, map API or buyer pays to appear here, and there are no affiliate links. Every answer is our reading of a platform's published terms or of a statute, not advice on your own licences. Our fee: if a firm licenses or sells its map data to a buyer we introduced, it pays us 12.5% of the deal, subject to a minimum, when we act as its exclusive agent, or 10%, subject to a minimum, when its data joins a bundle or the pool, agreed in writing first; any fee a buyer pays us is credited back to the firm.
