Buyers of spatial data
Who buys map data, aerial imagery and point clouds
Geospatial data is sold through two kinds of door: AI data licensors that name spatial data, and geospatial marketplaces that resell a provider's archive to many users.
Licensors that name spatial data
Shutterstock says its 3D and spatial datasets are rights-cleared and contributor-permissioned for AI training; Protege lists spatial and physical data among the domains it licenses from providers.

Geospatial marketplaces
UP42 lets users search geospatial data from different providers, with aerial data from planes and drones among its collections; CARTO's Data Observatory invites data partners looking for new channels for their data products; Opendatabay lists 3D spatial among the data it trades.

What capture firms have already licensed
In June 2026 Aerometrex, an Australian aerial capture firm, announced two licences of existing 3D and LiDAR catalogue data to AI and simulation companies, reported by ShareCafe.
Choosing a door
A marketplace pays per sale and keeps the archive available to many buyers; a licensor may want exclusivity. Tell us what you hold on the enquiry form.
